Persona ("we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile application that offers AI-powered personal journaling features to enhance your self-reflection and emotional well-being.
Our Privacy Commitment
- Your data stays on your device. Persona stores your personal content—journal entries, recordings, and insights—exclusively on your device.
- We only interact with our servers when you actively request AI processing, and even then, we don't store your personal information on our servers.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
1) Data Stored Only on Your Device
The following information never leaves your device:
- Journal entries and personal reflections
- Audio recordings and video messages
- Personal test results and insights
- Mood tracking data, daily analyses, and wrapped summaries
- Chat conversations with your AI companion (Bestie)
- All media files (audio, video, images)
2) Temporary Server Processing
- What happens: Your content is sent to our server for AI processing
- Processing duration: Data exists on our server only during active processing (typically seconds)
- What we use: Google Cloud Platform with Gemini for analysis and insights
- Data retention: Zero — all data is immediately deleted after processing
- What returns: Only the AI-generated results return to your device
3) Subscription Information
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions:
- RevenueCat handles all payment processing
- We receive only anonymized subscription status (active/inactive)
- No payment information is ever collected or stored by us

4) Analytics (Minimal and Anonymous)
- App crashes and error reports (no personal data included)
- Feature usage statistics (completely anonymized)
- Device type and app version for compatibility

Consent Management
How we obtain consent: During first launch, we present our privacy practices and request consent before AI processing. You must actively agree; we never assume consent.
Without consent: The app cannot be used as AI processing is core to our features. You can exit onboarding and delete the app without any data being processed.
Withdrawing consent: Disable AI features (coming soon) or delete the app (removes all data and consent records).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any material changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Persona mobile app does not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not track you across apps or websites, use advertising identifiers, share data with ad networks, or build advertising profiles.
